Is It Time for 4K?

Maybe.... It depends on what you're doing. Let's go over some Productions that really should have 4K

Sports Productions
When it comes to Sports productions you really want to have the highest image quality along with the highest frame rates.

A combination of high resolution and high frame rates allows for the viewer to see every bit of the players moves.

We recommend always having at least 60FPS when shooting sports to allow for the best instant replay

Is It Time for 4K?

  • What are you Producing?
  • Who is your audience?
  • Can your workflow handle 4K?

Maybe.... It depends on what you're doing. Let's go over some Productions that really should have 4K

Sports Productions

  • When it comes to Sports productions you really want to have the highest image quality along with the highest frame rates.
  • A combination of high resolution and high frame rates allows for the viewer to see every bit of the players moves.
  • We recommend always having at least 60FPS when shooting sports to allow for the best instant replay

eSports Productions

  • Many E-sport teams are broadcasting a screen capture of the game they are playing. To give the players the best edge they are typically playing games at the highest resolution and frame rates, just like physical sports - to see the minute detail.
  • In doing so we recommend having a camera on the player that will have that same resolution. This will make the overall production look better and less jarring by having multiple resolutions in your production

Low Light Situations

  • When filming in low light having a more sensitive sensor will be able to better see what's happening in low light. This would work well for musicians and other on-stage performances where lighting isn't always ideal

Region of Interest

  • A region of interest in short is when you use 1 high resolution camera that can digitally zoom in to the image while maintaining a loss less resolution when streaming at 1080.
  • This would be good for productions where you may not have the space for multiple cameras but want to make it seem as if you have multiple cameras to cut between.
