Scan Converters, also called Down-Converters, transform higher resolution computer images into lower resolution video images. The CORIO range of conversion products represents the latest available technology in this field. All CORIO products are designed to convert computer signals of varying resolutions and vertical refresh rates into standard NTSC and PAL video signals. Normal television systems are much lower in resolution than typical computer signals. Computers can produce three times as many horizontal lines as standard analog television resolutions. Scan Conversion is the process of fitting a higher number of lines of information into a lesser number of available spaces.

CDM630 Standards Converterprovides high quality conversion in a very small, palm-size package, at a remarkably affordable price. Convert between numerous worldwide NTSC, PAL and SECAM broadcast television standards. The integral Time Base Corrector stabilizes the incoming video. High performance is achieved by using digital conversion in the encoding and decoding process. An automatic gain circuit insures that the proper video output level of 1V p-p is maintained, even when the input signal varies between 0,5V and 2.0V p-p.

CORIOscan-Pro SGCORIOscan-Pro SG is a higher performance version of the basic CORIOscan Pro, featuring Studio Genlock capability with adjustable SCH Phasing. The higher performance of the SG Version is achieved by using twice as much video memory and a higher data sampling rate, resulting in a crisper, sharper image with less color bleed. The Studio Genlock feature enables the unit to be easliy integrated into a broadcast studio or post production environment.

CORIOgen Eclipse is the newest member of the CORIO family, providing the same high quality computer-to-video scan conversion as the CORIOscan Select, while adding a genlock and overlay feature. It converts computer graphics to standard NTSC or PAL video and its integral digital luminance keyer allows those graphics to be keyed over an external Composite or S-Video signal. All black areas of the image from the computer can be replaced with the external video. Choose between Hard (Solid) or Soft (Transparent) Keys with five levels of transparency. Also, the Mix Mode permits glitch-free dissolving between the computer image and external video. The dissolve rate is adjustable for both the Key and Mix Modes. A standalone, real-time Digital Video Recorder/Player based upon the latest MPEG compression technology. It records video and audio in either MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 format, in real-time to CDRW or Removable Hard Drives. A big advantage over tape-based VCR's is that the storage media we offer experiences minimal deterioration over time and no loss of quality, even after hundreds of playbacks. This makes the MPEG-2@Disk the perfect choice for continuous playback duty and an excellent alternative to high performance VCR's. It is available in a wide variety of configurations to offer maximum flexibility. Composite, S-Video and Stereo Audio inputs and outputs are standard and other formats are optionally available. All models are NTSC-PAL compatible with auto-detection. User selectable bitrates of 1.2, 2.4, 4.0 or 6.0 Mbits per second permit a choice of the desired quality level when recording. Front panel controls have a familiar VCR-type functionality, including a Jog-Shuttle knob.
