Switch Pro 3.0

Designed for Broadcast and Media QC professionals Play, QC, correct and deliver your media in one application. Switch 3 adds more powerful inspection capabilities, expanded export options and improved playback.

Switch is the only tool professionals need to play, inspect, QC, and correct all their media. The media player supports high-quality playback of virtually any media file including MOV, MP4, MXF, GXF, MPEG Transport streams, HEVC files and even embedded captions and subtitles. The inspector shows all the media properties including metadata, encoding formats, bitrate, and aspect ratio, and more. You can make corrections such as trim, scale, crop, and add metadata, and export to a new file or to an asset-only iTunes store package.

Play it
Trust Switch for frame-accurate, smooth playback of all your media files, including captions and subtitles.

Check it
Inspect all the relevant information about video properties, audio properties, captions and subtitles. Includes loudness monitoring, compare media feature, SDI out for external preview and Timeline feature with GOP structure information.

Fix it
Use Switch to make corrections to media: trim, scale or crop; rearrange and re-label audio tracks and channels; add metadata; change format and codec and more.

Deliver it
Use the iTunes export preset to easily create an asset-only iTunes store package, complete with content and XML file or publish your media directly to Vimeo, YouTube, or Facebook.

Switch 3 adds more powerful inspection capabilities, expanded export options and improved playback.

Compare Alternate Media
Load multiple versions of a video into Switch, and toggle between them to compare and check differences frame by frame. This is great for checking multiple adaptive bit rate files in ABR workflows, or easy comparison of multiformat media.

External preview to Blackmagic Design devices
Switch Pro now enables HDMI/SDI output to an external monitor or device via Blackmagic Design capture cards. We introduced this preview to external monitors in an earlier version of Switch. In Switch 3.0 we are expanding the number and types of devices users can use to send their output to, to Blackmagic devices as well as the currently available AJA devices.

More publishing destinations
Export video directly to Vimeo, YouTube, or Facebook from within Switch. Select export, choose a destination, and Switch will publish directly to your destination and save a local. Switch will create the files appropriate for the chosen distribution platform, taking the guess work out of encoding and submitting content.

More export containers
Support for export to MXF OP1a, and OP-Atom containers

Improved playback
Improved playback and improved indexing of files to enable quicker spot-checking
