    3. What is the restriction of DV export with CBFW1 ?
On some laptops, CBFW1(RSDVCap) can not export DV video file to DVCAM properly. This restriction is caused by CardBus Bridge chip and BIOS setting of the laptop computer. As some CardBus Bridge chip does not support memory read cycle burst data transfer with default BIOS setting, a lot of video frames may drop at exporting to DVCAM. We do and will provide setup utility driver to improve this data transfer capability. Please refer following notes.

You can check your CardBus bridge chip at Device Manager window. Open Device Manager window and double click "PCMCIA socket" i-con. Read out CardBus Bridge chip name and refer follows.

      1. If you find "Texas Instruments......" wording, you can not export to DVCAM properly. We will release and upload to our website special setting utility to improve burst transfer capability of TI chips.
      2. If you find "Toshiba Topic97......" wording, you can export to DVCAM properly.
      3. If you find "O2Micro......" wording, you can not export to DVCAM properly. We will release and upload to our website special setting utility to improve burst transfer capability of this chips.
      4. If you find "Ricoh .... RL/RB5C478......" or "RL/RB5C475" wording, you can not export to DVCAM properly with default setting. You have to install special setting utility "CBRPSET.VXD". Refer to User Guide(Rev.2.0) page 50. After installation, you can export to DVCAM.

    4. Does CBFW1/PCIFW1 work with Windows95, WindowsNT4.0 ?
No, CBFW1U/PCIFW1U requires true 32bit WDM driver. So it does not work with neither Windows95 nor WindowNT4.0.

    5. Will CBFW1/PCIFW1 work with Windows2000 ?

Note 1. This HD requires external power source ( DC8V to 30V/ 4 to 7W max). You have to connect External Power Adapter to VST HD power jack directly or supply cable power through FireWire cable. If you would like to supply power through FireWire cable, you have to connect Power Adapter to CBFW2 dongle power jack. CBFW2 can not supply cable power through itself because PowerBook PC Card socket can not provide over 3.3V 600mA. If you need Cable Power Adapter of CBFW2, please ask to your reseller, or you can use universal DC Power Adapter which has 5.5x2.1mm Positive polarity tip and enough capability compliant to IEEE1394 standard (DC12V to 20V / 800mA to 1.5A).
Note 2. We recommend VST HD/Zip driver 1.1 and firmware 43C.
Note 3. VST 1.1 Updater sometimes does not work with CBFW2 properly. In bad case, the firmware inside VST HD may be corrupted and sometimes is not recognized by MacOS8.6. Or sometimes updater fails in loop although the Firmware is updated to 43C successfully, in this case, you have to force System reset. After restart, VST HD works properly. We are investigating this problems together with VST. If you have VST HD which has older firmware, please still use it, or ask to VST how to update it.
