Is there support for external graphics devices?
By using two inputs for key and fill, graphics can be sent to the GV Director system.

How many video inputs are supported?
There are eight SDI (SD/HD) inputs w/embedded audio.

How many video outputs are supported?
There are four SDI outputs: Program, Stage (preview) and two AUX.

How do the AUX outputs function?
The AUX bus outputs are background sources only, such as live inputs or full-screen graphics with no keyed graphics or transitions.

How many audio inputs are supported?
There 16 embedded audio tracks per SDI input. Additionally, there are two analog inputs.

How many audio outputs are supported?
There are 16 embedded audio tracks in the program output and the stage output. In addition, there are four analog outputs.

What is the support for record channels?
The system can record from two sources, such as Program plus an input, or two inputs. The recorded material is encoded to MPEG-2 I-Frame TS.

What is the support for HDMI?
There are two HDMI inputs. For every HDMI input used, the number of available SDI inputs is reduced. Audio is not supported on the HDMI inputs.

Can LTC be used?
Yes, there is a 3-pin Female XLR LTC input.

Can audio adjustments be made with the system?
Levels can be adjusted on audio inputs and for clips.

What other audio capabilities are included?
There is audio fader functionality, but no audio dynamics. The system supports de-embedding and re-embedding of audio.

Is there support for MADI audio?
Not at this time.

MXF (OP1a), AVI, ASF

How much storage is available?
The system includes 500 GB of solid-state storage.

What clip capabilities are supported?
GV Director supports the switching between live sources along with clips and stills. Up to 20 clips can be ready to use, with the ability to use 10 or more layers simultaneously, depending on complexity.

Does the system support animated graphics?
The system provides animation of 2D and 3D graphic elements.

Can the system perform animated wipes?
Animated wipes are supported and are created as part of production packages. Clips can be used as backgrounds.

Is there chromakey support?
Chromakey parameters can setup from the Director application interface or the Smart Surface Panel.

Can the system run playlists?
Initial capability is only individual clips in an event list with manual progression. More playlist functionality will be added in the future.

Is there a way to create and playback sequences including graphic, transitions and effects?
The Composer application provides tools to build sophisticated production elements. A list of these elements can be assembled on the Smart Surface Panel and then the operator can move manually through the list, including the ability to add elements and/or skip over them. The event sequence can support cutting between clips, stills, graphics and live sources.

Can GV Director be used with multiple panels?
Yes.

Does the system include a control application?
The Director application is included in all systems. This is a 64-bit Windows 7 application which is also compatible with the GV STRATUS nonlinear production toolset.
