Unfortunatley for some drivers the steps above will not completely remove the old software. Often, this is because these files get installed by windows when you boot up and they can't be uninstalled from within windows. If this is the case, you have to exit windows into DOS mode.
- Go To Start>Shut down> select restart the computer in MS_DOS mode
- At the DOS prompt c:> type cd\windows. this will get you into the windows directory.
- Now search for files your capture card may have left installed. type dir miro*.* (substitute the brand of the card you had. You may have to experiment a little to find the files you need to delete).
- I then recommend using the copy command and copying the files you are about to delete onto a floppy disk, just in case you end up still needing them. copy miro*.* a:.
- Now delete each file individually using the delete command. del miroxyz.dll. I don't recommend using a wildcard for deletes. type them in one at a time.
- now type cd\windows\system. This will get you into the windows system directory. repeat steps 3 through 6 above.
