BirdDog’s Studio NDI Powers Event Broadcasting
DigiBox is a leading distributer in the UK market of broadcast, video and pro-AV technologies. Stream7 is a major industry streaming provider. Both companies have recently teamed up to provide event broadcasting with the power of the BirdDog Studio NDI.
Stream7 recently covered the four-day SQLBits conference at the Manchester Central exhibition and conference centre- which is the largest community held SQL server and Microsoft Data Platform conference in Europe.
Stream7 used NDI event broadcasting to stream from eight seminar rooms. Stream7 covered the whole event with a camera in each space equipped with a BirdDog Studio NDI encoder.
Production teams equipped with a NewTek TriCaster took these live camera feeds from each room and composed a product available for on demand viewing.
"We felt that SDI would require more cable than we could effectively run video over without inviting problems, so on advice from DigiBox we decided to deploy camera-mounted BirdDog Mini NDIs, not necessarily to avoid SDI limitations but to ensure we could achieve what we needed to for the job."
