File this post under “how in the hell did I not know MPEG Streamclip could do this!” This being take the URL of a YouTube video and convert it into a usable file. That is one of those tasks that has come up time and time again and I’ve often struggled with how to make it happen. I’m not sure how long MPEG Streamclip has had this function but I’m going to chalk it up to you learn something new every day. Read More

I’d been running Squeeze 4.5 when I decided to upgrade to the Pro version of 5.1. I was pretty impressed with the differences in the upgrade. What’s new? Most importantly, in my opinion: workflow changes that really save a lot of time and effort, and that’s what makes this upgrade worth the cash. The coolest thing is the new Publishing presets and functionality, because the file usually has to get sent someplace after it’s compressed. Read More
