Scott was just finishing up a three week edit using Avid Media Composer. He enjoys longer-form projects like this one as he always find himself learning something new about the non-linear editing tool that he's using for that extended period of time. Most all of the tools we use in post-production are quite full featured. They’ve been updated over many years with features added along the way. Avid Media Composer is one of the most full featured of the non-linear editors out there. I’ve had several occasion where I’ve been working with other MC users and they ask “how’d you do that?” Or “what was that button?” On the flip side I’ve been working around other editors and I learn something entirely new myself. The 4th of July means barbecues, family gathering and fun in the sun and the party concludes with the traditional pyro- show around the country. Richard Harrington got a great tip from a friend... You can work natively in Final Cut Pro X. You just need to change some settings to overcome its desire to eat up disc space. Start by launching Final Cut Pro X. Be sure to keep an eye out for Abba Shapiro's forthcoming title.

Playback Settings
You need to adjust how media is played back as well as rendered. (Read More)

Adobe recently published (with the help of Richard Harrington) a new collection of Adobe Creative Suite 5 Production Premium tips and tricks.
