Why should YOU upgrade your video editing system
and what is the best upgrade for you?
There are several reasons to upgrade your video editing system. Like most technological advances, the video editing systems available today are faster, more stable, easier to use, and capable of higher-quality then some of those made as recently as six-months ago!

What a long, strange trip it’s been for Magic Bullet Denoiser. The quite amazing, though crash-prone, denoising tool from Red Giant Software was removed from Red Giant’s product lineup late last year when some third-party technology used in Denoiser 1 was purchased by Google. 2011: The Year of the X
That's "X" as in FCPX and XGrades (crossgrades)
2011 has been quite a year for Videoguys, and our industry. In April, at the FCPUG SuperMeet during the NAB show in Vegas, things changed dramatically when Apple gave a first look of their new FCPX editing software. I was at the event, and the room was filled with excitement, energy and anticipation - that is until after the Apple presentation. The professional editors and broadcasters in the room left f (Read More)

Red Giant has always embraced the little guy, a.k.a., the indie filmmaker. When they first introduced Magic Bullet years ago, I used it on my very first indie film. It made the distributors sit up and take notice: “This looks like film,” they said.

Most editors know how to correct the color and brightness in their videos to have them match the reality of the shoot, or what they wish was the reality of the shoot. The next level is using color and brightness adjustments to create a certain look or feel, or to enhance the footage in different ways. If your focus is solely matching reality, and you're working with decently shot footage or better, you're likely in good hands with the various color and brightness adjustments available in your NL ( Read More)
