Adobe has more than usual riding on CS6, the latest version of its Creative Suite package for production and post. CS5.5 launched at NAB last year just as Final Cut Pro X was landing with a thud among users who didn't care for the radically rethought interface and slimmed-down feature set. At one minute past midnight EST, Adobe published details about their new version of Premiere Pro CS6. We had the pleasure of a sneak peek a few weeks ago.
Why should an FCP based website look at a rival NLE? It is clear that FCPX isn't to everybody's liking and there are customers who have hundreds of FCP7 projects that need updating and won't survive the current transfer tools available. Similar to how they did before the launch of CS5.5, Adobe has been quietly slipping out a bevy of “sneaks” (now numbering 16 videos including those for Photoshop CS6) for new features that may be in a forthcoming release of the Creative Suite…

Today I had the opportunity to meet with Crucial and learn about their new Adrenaline product. I am very intrigued by this concept. I see it as being a potential homerun for video editors. Professional NLE apps like Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere take a while to open up. The more plug-ins. pre-sets and fonts you use, the longer it takes the host app to initially open. Adobe have announced that the latest version of Photoshop, CS6 is now in beta and available for free download. Yes the interface has gone dark and yes it can edit video too.

When Adobe Photoshop Senior Product Manager Bryan O'Neil Hughes showed me the new content-aware features of CS6, my mouth opened like an imbecile out of complete disbelief. You can basically move objects around your image freely and effortless. It's black magic! ( Read More)

Adobe Systems has released a second advance look at Photoshop CS6 that shows new work to give a hardware boost to the image-editing software.
The graphics processing unit (GPU) speeds the Liquify tool, which lets people smear images in a finger-painting way, according to a Zorana Gee, a Photoshop product manager. She demonstrated the change in a YouTube video, the second in what looks to be a series of previews of the software.

Adobe has succesfully generated a hype leading up to the launch of Creative Suite 5. Through various sites fragments were’leaked’. This created the so called buzz that was picked up and redistributed by the social networks.
