Adventures in Final Cut Pro X.

So I did it, you guys. I downloaded the free trial of Final Cut Pro X. You may remember the outrage when Apple completely remade its highly popular Final Cut Pro software, pissing off its very vocal professional userbase. So I was a little ambivalent about it.

But after attending an introductory workshop at Amherst Media recently, I decided to jump in and try it out on a video at work this morning. Here’s an approximate timeline:

8:00 a.m.: You guys, I’m doing it. Wish me luck.
8:30 a.m.: Wow, this is pretty slick. I mean, it takes some getting used to. But I can edit my DSLR footage natively? Fantastic.
9:00 a.m.: Huh? No drop shadow? This is kind of annoying.
10:00 a.m.: OK, that wasn’t so bad. Here goes. Export.
10:30 a.m.: RAGE!!!!
