Buying a Canon 7D is a smart move well done, don't second guess yourself with, should I have got the new 550/T2i for half the price? It's often offered as a bundle with I/O hardware, such as HDStorm, HDSpark, or HDThunder. In this review, we are just considering the Edius 5.1 application and multifunctional software bundle. If there is one technology which has stood out in 2009 it is the emergence of the DSLR as a viable filmmaking tool. It's hard to believe another year has gone by. I think 2009 was one of the most challenging years for our industry. The troubled US economy created budget problems for videographers, video editors and producers on every level. It started in earnest last year and shows no sign of abating. Videographers are clearly in the midst of two revolutions: tapeless recording and the use of the hybrid still/video camera (HDSLR).
The tapeless future started with P2 and XDCAM, but these storage devices have been joined by other options, including Compact Flash, SD and SDHC memory cards. The acceptance of small cameras in professional operations first took off with DV cameras from Sony and Panasonic, especially the AG-DVX100. (Read More)
