Sunday before NAB is a very busy day, filled with dealer meetings all over Vegas. Here's a quick run down on our very busy day. Maximum…Max. I’m talking the Matrox MAX system…the H.264 encoding engine in their MXO2 with MAX product line, and the CompressHD card. You might have thought that this only worked on the APPLE stuff…Compressor and FCP. But no…it works on the Avid Media Composer side too.     When talking software I think of new versions in two ways: updates and upgrades. Updates are more like the smaller “dot” releases that take a piece of software from version 2.0 to 2.0.1 or 2.1.
