It would take us a day just to see it, then another three or four hours to add all the metadata so the editors could get to work. Once the editing was done we would output from Read More

lets get on to the Matrox MXO2 and, more importantly, the newest and imminent driver release that’s coming our way. Unlucky for some perhaps, but hopefully not for Matrox or their users, version 1.9 will be the 13th driver release for the MXO2 in just 18 months... and its a doozy. Read More

It's hard to believe another year has gone by. I think 2009 was one of the most challenging years for our industry. The troubled US economy created budget problems for videographers, video editors and producers on every level. In today's economy every Penney counts and before we invest in new technology, we have to be sure of the benefits.

In 2009 Tapeless camcorders started dominating the landscape, at every level of video production, each with their own unique wrinkles and complexity. Th Read More

The original MXO is still a current Matrox product, even though it doesn’t get nearly as much press lately, and it is not nearly as flexible as the MXO2-family devi Read More

CreativeCOW's leader, Jerry Hofmann depends on the Matrox MXO2 to save the day when tight turn around production dilemma presented itself.

ACT ONE: THE RUSH JOB An old and favored client called me on a Wednesday afternoon asking for a production of a short instructional video, and a 30-second spot. The scary thing was that I had to deliver a broadcast spot, a broadcast 6 minute instructional insert program, and in the end, a couple of web streams all by the following Monday morning.
