Lacking some of the bells and whistles of its pricier competitors, but Datavideo's DN-60 compact flash card recorder gets the job done at a fraction of the cost. If you've got an aging DV or HDV camcorder whose heads are beginning to fail, or perhaps you simply want to step into the digital age, but your older camera still delivers great footage, then strapping a direct-capture-device onto that prized piece of video history may be exactly what the geriatrician ordered. Welcome to our Video primer - or the "how to shoot video on Canon HDSLR guide". Using the HDSLR as a video camera is easy, but mastering it is a bit harder. The HDSLR doesn't do the autofocus like your camcorder does and it isn't a fixed focal length either. Most of the experts are recommending you do manual focus "like the pros do" - there is a simple focus technique Read More

Three years ago, Ottis Jones knew nothing about video production when he started producing for The Old Fashion Gospel Hour in Hendersonville, TN. It was a TV ministry set up by a local church, and as most ministries are, it was run by volunteers. Over the years however, the ministry has grown so much that it gets broadcast in several communities in 3 states. It was no easy feat for Ottis to put together a studio that could produce broadcast quality HD footage, especially with no experience, but Read More

Legal videographers need to make high quality A/V recordings and archive safety copies of them for 60 to 90 days. Deposition videos are usually recorded and delivered on DVD and backed up to SVHS for failsafe copies. But with the pro video community as a whole moving away from tape as an acquisition or even backup up format, the obsolescence of SVHS tape as well as problematic storage and archiving issues, non-tape back up just makes more sense these days.

Getting media onto a computer can sometimes be a time-consuming process. Some older camcorders and equipment don't even have hookups to plug into a computer. In the field there isn't always a place to unload your data when a tape or SD card fills up. For this, Datavideo created the DN-400 DV/HDV Recorder. Read More
