In the first release of Final Cut Pro X, the interaction with I/O devices such as the Matrox MXO2 products is different than with previous versions of Final Cut Pro when it comes to capturing, monitoring, and outputting video. Exporting to H.264 files from the new Compressor 4 using Matrox MAX-enabled MXO2 devices remains up to 5 times faster than software alone. Read More

And yet over the last few years—and in particular over the past year, since Adobe started demoing real-time playback of all kinds of files, including 4K RED .r3d source, in Premiere Pro on systems with CUDA-enabled nVidia cards—there’s Read More

The Matrox MXO2 LE MAX is used by Glyndebourne to produce up to 40 short films a season.

“At Glyndebourne, operas are filmed on HDCAM and it’s not financially viable for us to buy and maintain our own tape deck, so the MXO2 LE MAX can link to a hired deck and capture high quality HD operas into our edit systems. The key thing is that it enables us to record in a variety of video compression formats - i.e. store played-in material in Apple Pro Res HQ or any codec of our choice”. Read More

Maximum…Max. I’m talking the Matrox MAX system…the H.264 encoding engine in their MXO2 with MAX product line, and the CompressHD card. You might have thought that this only worked on the APPLE stuff…Compressor and FCP. But no…it works on the Avid Media Composer side too. Because the Matrox MXO2 Mini is designed to work as a monitoring option for MC5. Read More

The MXO2Mini one of the most versatile pieces of hardware available with support for PC or Mac, desktop or laptop, and with or without Matrox MAX technology. The MXO2 Mini is also the only "Triple-A" rated I/O hardware on the market - which is our way of saying it is approved and recommended by Avid, Adobe and Apple for use with their professional editing applications.
